Description
Györe Mansion – Protected Neoclassical Manor in Central Hungary
We are pleased to offer for sale the privately-owned, unique Györe Mansion, a neoclassical manor built in the 1830s and listed as a protected historic monument. Its historical character, impressive portico, and central location present an exceptional opportunity for investors or buyers with a passion for heritage properties.
____________________
Architectural Features
The Györe Mansion is a brick-built, two-wing, single-story neoclassical manor with a hipped gable roof. The southern façade features a four-column portico with a triangular pediment. The interior layout comprises a grand central hall flanked by two living rooms on each side.
The building is fully basemented, with an interconnected cellar system complemented by a drilled well, providing an independent water supply. The basement offers ideal additional space for a wine cellar, wellness area, or exclusive club, while the representative ground-floor rooms remain untouched.
____________________
Renovations
The mansion’s roof structure and neoclassical portico have already been restored with grant support. Further restoration can be undertaken within the framework of heritage conservation, potentially utilizing available funding opportunities.
Heritage Registration Number: 6880
____________________
Historical Background
The mansion was built around 1830, commissioned by Antal Agyay and designed by an architect named Teutzer. In the second half of the 19th century, during the 1860s, it became the property of Gyula Gullner, a multi-term parliamentary representative of Abony, before passing to the Györe family after World War I.
