Written records of cellars in Zsámbék date back to the early 1800s, and by 1879, 225 cellars had been documented. The Szuszogó cellar row likely originated from a series of cellars carved into a loess cliff by a watercourse. During World War II, these cellars were also used as shelters. After the German deportation, the cellar row began to deteriorate, along with several others; many cellars were demolished, and their materials were reused in other buildings. The local council rehabilitated the cellar row in the early 2000s, completing the renovation by 2005.
