The apartment is energy-efficient: the building is brick-built, received 10 cm of façade thermal insulation a few years ago, and the windows have been renovated (double windows, with multi-layer glazing in several places); the occupied, heated apartment below also helps retain heat — last heating season the apartment stayed around 18 °C even without heating. Hot water is provided by a Vaillant instant gas water heater in the bathroom and an electric boiler in the kitchen.

Security and infrastructure: intercom, and keypad-code entry at two points (at the street gate and at the building's main entrance). Fibre-optic (FTTH) internet can be connected via both major providers (Telekom, One).
