Description
By the shore of Lake Balaton, in one of the most beautiful parts of the city of Siófok, on the corner of Batthyány Street and Mártírok Street, in the cool shadow of plane trees you can find the renovated, romantic-style Hotel Jokai Villa. The useful living space of the building is 642 square meters laying on a 2225-square-meter area.
The villa was built by Dávid Braun in 1897 and bought by Dr. Vilmos Fekete, a lawyer from Temesvár, at the turn of the century. The name of the villa already reveals that it has something to do with the life of one of the greatest Hungarian writers, Mór Jókai. Jókai spent the last summer of his life in this cosy villa of Lake Balaton in 1903 as the guest of the house owner. Mór Jókai frequently stayed in Siófok using the experiences achieved during his ship voyage from Siófok to Balatonfüred to write his novel Az Arany Ember (The Man with the Golden Touch) at the same time.
Until the end of WW II and up to its socialisation in 1947, the villa served as a summer residence for those desiring a summer holiday. During the years of socialism the house served as a police station, as a music school and also as a Pannonia centre. In 1995 the house passed again into private hands.
The rooms of the villa together with the common areas, by combining the stylistic features of Arte Povera and a modern design, reflect a perfect harmony and subtle elegance. The building offers 3 standard, 2 superior, 2 deluxe and 4 family rooms and a suite of 75 m2. Furthermore within the building there is a wellness area having a Finnish sauna, a steam room, an infrared sauna and a salt wall.
The environment cannot be any better, both the entire city center and the shore of Lake Balaton can be directly accessible on foot.
I expressly suggest the villa both for property investors and other investors concerned about accommodation and/or tourism.
