Description
Unique detached house in the Örség 3-country national park, waiting for lovers of old farmhouses who appreciate such an ambiance.
The U-shaped house is located on a spacious plot of approx. 1500 sqm. Drainage with accessible inspection shafts has been laid around the house. Rainwater is collected in a large cistern sunk into the ground.
A draw well, walnut trees, old and newly planted fruit trees enrich the property.
All installations for electricity, water, and gas lines are new. The old house's masonry is adobe, the new part is brick, and the ceiling is equipped with wooden beams. Great attention was paid to biological, breathable building materials that support a healthy living climate. Shielded electrical cables with separate grounding provide additional safety and reduce electrosmog in the bedrooms.
The stone floor with sand fill was removed, freshly rolled, and carefully insulated with perlite (volcanic material). The wooden floor was treated with natural Auro oils to maintain a healthy living atmosphere. The walls were painted with high-quality wall paints to preserve breathability.
The collected rainwater can be used for garden irrigation as well as for toilet flushing.
The rooms in detail:
2 original rooms facing south and southwest, the southwest room was extended with an additional window to let in the beautiful evening light.
The newly built bathroom, equipped with a shower, sink, and a gas boiler for hot water and central heating, was kept small. The Tadelakt wall technique and wooden floor create a pleasant atmosphere.
The separate toilet with a corner sink was refined with high-quality Marmorino technique.
The kitchen retains its original dimensions and is equipped with a gas stove, a wood-burning stove, seating, and provisions for a refrigerator, freezer, and dishwasher. Above the dining area, there is an adorable niche for favorite items.
From the kitchen, one enters the spacious living room (approx. 28 sqm), which was newly added with bricks and is slightly lower.
From the living room, you can access the cozy covered terrace, which offers a wonderful view of the garden. The living room has its own fireplace with a stove for cozy evenings.
A beautiful, large, light-filled room is located above the new building with roof and gable windows.
In the garden, there are cherry trees, walnuts, pears, apples, and sweet chestnuts.
Features:
Electricity, fresh water, sewage, gas, internet, well
Location:
📍 Location – Halogy (Vas County, Western Hungary)
The property is located in Halogy, a small, charming village near the Austrian border. The surroundings are characterized by rolling hills, forests, and fields – ideal for nature lovers, those seeking peace and quiet, and anyone who appreciates authentic Hungarian village life.
The region offers numerous opportunities for leisure and recreation: walks, bike tours, and excursions to the nearby Őrség National Park are just as popular as visits to the many thermal and medicinal baths in the area.
Despite its idyllic tranquility, Halogy is well-connected in terms of transport:
Vienna: approx. 150 km (around 2 hours driving time)
Budapest: approx. 250 km (about 3 hours driving time)
Keszthely on Lake Balaton: approx. 90 km (about 1.5 hours driving time)
This makes Halogy an ideal location to combine the rural idyll of Western Hungary with short distances to popular excursion and cultural destinations.
