Description

Overview of Nemeskéri-Kiss Manor (Göd, Hungary)
Location:
Situated in the central area of Göd, within a 32,000 sqm ancient tree park.
Construction and Style:
The manor is a neoclassical-style historic building dating back to the 17th century. It is an L-shaped, single-story structure featuring Tuscan columns, strong façade details, and shaded arcades. The building covers nearly 1700 sqm.
Historical Background:
Originally owned by the Madách family, the manor and surrounding lands were purchased in 1736 by Antal Grassalkovich. At that time, the manor served as an important economic center and vintner’s headquarters.
In the 19th century, after passing through various owners, the Nemeskéri-Kiss family acquired the manor.
Miklós Nemeskéri Kiss (1820–1902), a honvéd colonel who participated in the War of Independence, was a notable owner, and the building still bears his name today.
Several historical figures, including Emperor Franz Joseph I and archdukes, also visited the manor.
The 20th Century and Beyond:
The manor remained in the Nemeskéri-Kiss family until late 1944. During and after World War II, its condition severely deteriorated.
Soviet military use and later subdivision into apartments caused significant damage, before it came under the management of the local agricultural cooperative.
Restoration and Use:
Restoration began in 1999. A local entrepreneur renovated the building, establishing a guesthouse and restaurant, as well as hosting exhibitions, cultural events, and concerts.
The manor closed in the mid-2010s, and its services are currently not operating continuously.
Cultural and Community Role Today:
Although the manor no longer functions as a guesthouse or restaurant, it remains a cultural venue and event location, especially for programs held in the manor’s garden:

Summer evening concerts featuring operetta series and classical music nights in the garden.
Kék Duna Fest, a major open-air concert event in the manor garden.
István, the King rock opera concert, a grand August 20th celebration held in the garden.
These city events continue to strengthen the manor’s cultural significance in Göd’s community life.

One of Göd’s most unique historic monuments, the Nemeskéri-Kiss Manor is now seeking a new owner.
This neoclassical noble residence is not just a property but a piece of Hungarian history, offering exceptional potential today.

Built in the 17th century, the manor’s elegant proportions, columned porch, and spacious interiors provide a prestigious setting suitable for both representative and commercial uses. The building is embraced by a landscaped garden ideal for events, outdoor programs, or exclusive receptions.
