Description

Looking for your own private domain? We offer the Bay Castle for sale in all its noble splendor, combined with modern comforts!

This 150-year-old castle, built on a completely private 3,927 m2 estate, is located in a small village near Tiszaújváros, just an hour from Budapest. The property took its current form in 2008 after a comprehensive renovation and transformation. The current owner treated the building as a labor of love, sparing no expense or effort, also influenced by family ties to its history. Dutch ceramic tiles and Belgian marble were imported for the kitchen countertop, window sills, and thresholds. The original restored Count’s coat of arms adorns the facade, along with antique stairs and railings. Everything is tasteful and period-appropriate. The classicist building’s essence was carefully preserved during modernization, even restoring the ceiling to its original grandeur.

Of course, all mechanical systems, water, and electrical wiring are new, and the house even has its own water supply system. The finest quality double-glazed wooden windows have been installed, while the interior doors with frames were custom-made by a carpenter due to their unique sizes. The castle, built from stone and brick with 70 cm thick walls, received 5 cm of insulation, ensuring the facade retains its classicist character. The attic is accessible and has additional stone wool insulation. The efficiency of the new gas boiler is enhanced by cooling and heating air conditioners in the bedrooms, underfloor heating in the kitchen, bathroom, and ballroom, and an original marble fireplace. Considering the building’s size and character, maintenance costs are surprisingly low.

The property offers a total of 350 m2 of usable living space over two floors, arranged as follows:
- On the ground floor, mainly communal areas: a huge living room, a ballroom used as a dining room, hall, study, kitchen, utility rooms, gym, and sauna. The ballroom opens to a terrace overlooking an intimate garden.
- Upstairs, there are three bedrooms, two walk-in closets, and a large bathroom. Each bedroom has its own balcony with stunning views of the estate.

Scaled floor plans of the living levels are available upon request via email.

The landscaped garden features an irrigation system, carefully arranged ornamental plants and ancient trees, and is fully enclosed with a genuine wrought-iron fence. The yard includes a swimming pool, two drilled wells, a grill bar with a beer tap and separate washroom, as well as a wine cellar. The barbecue area, all walkways, terraces, and the poolside relaxation area are covered with travertine limestone and Belgian marble.

The outbuilding (former servant’s house) has been completely renovated and converted to include a double garage, various storage rooms, and another wine cellar.

We can provide the title deed, energy certificate, and flood risk certificate by email upon serious inquiry following a viewing.

Our office can assist with financing, legal background, energy certification, and electrical inspections through our partners!
