Csókakő

The village's name originally referred exclusively to the castle. The settlement was actually called Váralja. After 1461, it no longer appears in official documents, suggesting that the village was destroyed at the beginning of the Turkish era. The castle’s military significance ended after the Turks were expelled, and the name Csókakő gradually shifted to the slowly repopulated village. One of the most beautiful settlements in Fejér County, it is nestled between the Bakony and Vértes hills, offering rolling, scenic landscapes as far as the eye can see. It is a stunning wine-growing region, famous nationwide for the Mór Wine Days festival.
