Gyomaendrőd is a QUIET, PEACEFUL town in the plains in southeast Hungary, in county Békés. As regards its area, it is the 8th biggest settlement in Hungary, covering 303.94 km2. Owing to its natural and cultural values, which are unique in the country, this town with it 17,000 inhabitants attracts more and more tourists in the summer. It is situated on the left bank of the River KÖRÖS, known as the clearest river in Hungary, a paradise for anglers and fans of water sports. The town, located 160 km away from BUDAPEST, can be reached by car on Road 46 from Mezőtúr or Mezőberény and on Road 44 from Szarvas and Kondoros and on Road 4, from Kisújszállás and Dévaványa.
The thermal spa of the town can be found in the beautiful park of ERZSÉBET LIGET, whose healing water is used for curing various diseases.
